The Right to Read Partnership.

  • Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) – independent research charity and ‘What Works Centre’ for education
  • Babcock Learning Development Partnership – joint venture organisation with Devon County Council providing service to schools that help ensure they are meeting the needs of all their children and young people
  • Kingsbridge Research School – member of the national Research School Network exemplifying and supporting the use of evidence in the classroom
  • Teaching Schools South West - TSSW is a partnership of Schools, MATS, Teaching Schools, two Teaching School Hubs, Research School and Curriculum Hubs
  • Diocese of Exeter - supports education in Church of England Schools in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. We work in partnership with others to build connected communities with all schools to support their flourishing.

These groups have come together to provide a coordinated response to a single priority: to improve the outcomes of disadvantaged pupils across Devon. This will be done through targeting the teaching of reading in Years 3 and 4 (lower Key Stage 2).

About
Kingsbridge Research School is committed to developing a culture of evidence-based practice in schools across the southwest. Our work in classrooms as well as our programme of professional development with the Research Schools Network is focused on putting educational research into practice and improving learning experiences and prospects for all students.

Since we became one of the first designated National Research Schools in 2016, Kingsbridge has been working closely with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to develop evidence-based approaches to teaching and learning.

Kingsbridge Research School effectively supports schools in the region by:
  • Encouraging schools across the southwest to make use of evidence-based programmes and practices through regular communication and events.
  • Providing training and professional development for senior leaders, teachers and paraprofessionals on how to improve classroom practice based on the best available evidence.
  • Supporting schools to develop innovative ways of improving teaching and learning and providing them with the expertise to evaluate their impact.
